There are many challenges facing organizations today.  Changes are occurring both domestically and globally, which shape how we lead now and in the future. There are multiple factors contributing to this, including loss of key skill sets, demographic shifts, autonomy and technological advances, to name a few.

George’s presentation looks briefly into the past and then moves forward to address the changing dynamics and how leadership must adapt to survive and thrive in the new economy and marketplace.

 

George Garrett, SPHR

Bio

George is a Senior Human Resources professional with emphasis on strategy, systems, continuous improvement and metrics.  He is the Principal of Independent HR and is the Managing Director of the ASAT Alliance, a group of independent consultants (http://www.asatalliance.com) based in Houston.   George has expertise in leadership and team development, design and delivery of management and employee surveys along with process and system measures and risk.

George has worked in a variety of industries, including consumer packaged goods, oil/gas services, human resources consulting and commercial real estate, from start up to improvement.  He is the author of several white papers pertaining to organization, systems and culture.  More recently, George and two of his colleagues collaborated on “Leadership in the 21st Century”, which is a development program for all stakeholders of organizations.  He is a graduate of Lamar University, and is certified by the HR Certification Institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and in Employee Relations Law by the Institute for Applied Management and Law.
