Rotary Grant For Afghan Children
Here is some communication between Niclole Heydari and Bill Davis re her opportunity to join ISAF. where she will track Afghan civilian causalities and coordinate with Afghan ministries and NGOs for clearing up Investigations. Nicole is the young lady we helped get scholarship assistance to pursue her Diplomatic Studies. She also let us know about the need to assist with the children of Imprisoned women in Kabul, Afghan.
Rotary District 5890 has approved a $1,500 District Grant to support once again our efforts to provide a little happiness to the children in prison in Kabul. Felipe will be setting up contact with the appropriate contacts in Afghanistan, no small task as we learned last year. Also included is a communication with Felipe.
Our club will match the $1,500 from the District so we will have $3,000 to help these children.
Hi Bill
Sorry to have been out of touch! This e-mail comes actually at a very good time because I was offered a job with ISAF (based in ISAF HQ in Kabul) as a Civilian Casualties Tracking Cell Manager. It is a 1 year contract (extendable). The Diplomatic Academy told me I should definitely take the job and has agreed to either defer my second year to October 2013 or give me a thesis extension so I can still graduate next year should I decide to come back earlier. I should be leaving this week to Kabul. I think it is a crucial and exciting time and am eager to start this work. My job will essentially be to keep track of Afghan civilian casualties and coordinate with Afghan ministries and NGOs as far as clearing up investigations.
Anyway, this means that I should be in Kabul very soon and would be happy to help any way possible in coordinating this effort. I guess the best place to start would be to meet the people we coordinated with last time- which I think may also be based in ISAF HQ.

Greetings Felipe from the Humble Rotary Club;
I trust that Columbia is treating you well.
I am pleased to report that our Rotary District has approved a $1,500 District Grant to support once again our efforts to provide a little happiness to the children in prison in Kabul.
Our club will match the $1,500 from Rotary so we will have $3,000 to place in your caring hands.
May we ask you to contact your new friends in Afghanistan to begin the logistical efforts?
I will try to identify a Rotary Club in the Kabul area to assist on site.
Kindest regards,
Bill Davis
