Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship
On February 5 Isis Mejias of Engineers Without Borders and the person heading up our water/power Rotary Global Grant in Kenya was awarded an Ambassadorial Scholarship to continue her graduate studies in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Isis Mejias is a volunteer with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and brought to our club the current water and power project for the Maseno hospital in Kenya to which our club contributed $4,000 towards the total cost of this $61,250 project. She visited this site on Phase 1 of the project for EWB and returned in March to plan our current project.
Isis is a 2008 graduate of the University of Houston in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and is currently performing Graduate Research at UH.
Her scholarship application contemplates study at Escola de Politecnica da USP in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
