Paul Harris Fellows Recognized
Rotary Club of Humble Intercontinental recognizes Paul Harris Fellows

A gold pin with sapphire stones attached to the surface were affixed to the lapels of nine Rotary Club of Humble Intercontinental members.
They were all recipients of the Paul Harris Fellow pin honoring them for their dedication to Rotary and a donation of $1,000 to the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus or the Humanitarian Grants Program or have had that amount donated in their name.
The Rotary members each received a pin and a certificate from the Rotary Club District Governor Chris Schneider who made a special visit to their March 13 luncheon to honor and recognize each of the new Paul Harris Fellows.
“To date, this club has contributed $586,000 to the Rotary Foundation which is greatly appreciated,” Schneider said.
The Paul Harris Fellows is a commitment by a Rotarian to donate to the foundation which will also go toward scholarships for foreign exchange students.
“The monies from the annual fund comes back to us in three years as global funds and as district funds. These are then divvied out between the clubs for different projects,” Schneider said.
Rotary members can also achieve multiple Paul Harris Fellows when they are already a fellow and make an additional contribution of $1,000 or 1,000 points are added to their account.
The Rotary Club of Humble Intercontinental recognized three multiple Paul Harris Fellows including Dr. Bob Cassidy, Susan Brodbeck and Glenn Masterson.
The first-time Paul Harris Fellows for the Rotary Club of Humble Intercontinental are Darryal Chandler, Paul Davidson, Glenn Redmond, Harold Perkins, Henry Garcia, Jim Royal, Michael Carr, Marvin Monk, Robert Scarfo and Jim Randall.
In addition to donations, a Rotary member can also be honored as a Paul Harris Fellow through points. A Rotary member may give another person recognition points, which are awarded for contributions to the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus or the sponsor portion of a Foundation grant.
One Foundation recognition point will be given for every U.S. dollar contributed to these funds, which can then be extended to others to help them become a Paul Harris Fellow.
“This is the most Paul Harris Fellows we have recognized at most; this is indicative of all of their hard work,” Schneider said.
