Erica Johnston | Houston Education Ambassador, Early Detection, Prevention and Options re Cancer Challenges For Women, Wednesday Program

“I’m excited for the opportunity to share my story, encourage other women to know their bodies and be aware of any changes,” Erica said. “I feel like my husband and I have had the chance to make connections within the community so this is my chance to bring this awareness to others. I think it could be very powerful for this area.”
This is a program that you should bring your wife and others in the community that would benefit from this educational program.
Erica Johnston, Corresponding Secretary
Erica Johnston wears many hats that she is very proud of; however, her greatest honor is being a wife of 10 years to her husband, Duane, and a mom to her amazing children, Emma (7) and Mason (4). Professionally, Erica coordinates the marketing efforts and community involvement for her husband's business. She is a former PTO President at Holy Trinity Episcopal School, a graduate of the Leadership Lake Houston program through the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Lake Houston YMCA Board, Chairs "Leader cast Lake Houston", an area leadership conference, and is an active volunteer at their church, Second Baptist Kingwood. She is also an Education Ambassador for Bright Pink, a non-profit focused on breast and ovarian health education primarily to young women ages 18-45. She also enjoys cheering on her children at karate and swimming, taking family bike rides, and catching a Zumba class or two! Last year, Erica served the Kingwood Area Republican Women Board as a Ways and Means Chair. She has been a member since July 2013.
Because of her experience, Erica went through training with an organization called Bright Pink University in hopes of starting a support group in the Houston area for women who have undergone a double mastectomy as well as over educational courses for women in the community to learn more about early detection, prevention and options available to women.
