Rotary is seeking golfers and teams to play in Rotary's Cinco de Mayo Charity Golf Tournament to be celebrated on Thursday, May 2nd. The tournament will be returning to the beautiful and unique Tour 18 Golf Course, 3102 FM 1960 in Humble. Registration is at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Last year’s tournament was a complete sell out, so don’t wait too long to reserve your spot.

You’ll find this collection of incredible replicas will offer you a memorable experience by following in the footsteps of some of the greatest legends in golf. Last year Lake Houston Rotary Foundation provided nearly $85,000 in grants to 17 non-profit organizations with money raised from the Golf Tournament and Corvette Raffle. They were: Family Time Crisis & Counseling Center, Inspire ND, Hopeful Hearts Ministry, Humble ISD Education Foundation, Society of Saint Stephens, Oaks of Righteousness, Family Promise of Lake Houston, re:Mind Depression and Bipolar Support, Humble Area Assistance Ministries (H.A.A.M), Mission Northeast, Wings Ministries, Boots for Troops, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, The Village Centers, Lake Houston Family YMCA, Community Response Task Force, and Rotary Rose Group. In addition, $13,000 in grants were earmarked specifically for food and given to H.A.A.M, Mission Northeast, Family Promise, Family Time, and The Village Centers.
“Players and sponsors are welcome to have fun while doing good when they golf for a cause,” says Rotary Golf Committee Chair Danny Contreras. “We couldn’t support so many local charities without the help of sponsors and players. Won’t you join us in helping to make the Lake Houston Area a better place to work, live and play?” he added.

Player fees remain the same as last year for single players at $125 (we’ll match you with a group); and a Foursome team for $500. Breakfast, lunch and golf cart are included. Trophies for first, second and third place teams will be awarded. Plus, the tournament is planning some fun side activities including contests for a Hole in One and Closest to the Pin plus interesting raffle prizes and more (to be announced). Sponsorships still available range in price from $100 to $3,500. The $7,500 premiere title sponsorship has already been taken by Plains State Bank. New this year, golfers may inspect Rotary’s 2024 Corvette Stingray Coupe Raffle grand prize, purchase raffle tickets and be present when the random drawing is held and the winner is announced at the conclusion of the tournament (approximately 3 p.m.).

Rotary’s annual Corvette Raffle is sponsored by Robbins Chevrolet. In addition to the Corvette, additional raffle prizes include a chance to win one of ten $250 Visa gift cards and every raffle ticket includes a round of golf for four (Monday-Thursday) at the Atascocita Golf Club (cart not included). Raffle tickets are $100 and may be purchased from any club member, online at www.LHARotaryRaffle.com or at the golf tournament.

Charitable donations and grants are made to and by the Lake Houston Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit. Rotarians are all volunteers and 100% net proceeds raised is donated. Club operations are funded by member dues.

Rotary Club of Lake Houston Area members and guests meet at 11:45 a.m. most Wednesdays for their weekly lunch meeting at the Lake Houston Family YMCA, 2420 West Lake Houston Pkwy. in Kingwood. Visitors wishing to learn more about Rotary are welcome.

The Summer Creek Satellite Rotary Club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 8:30 a.m., at Generation Park 3rd floor Nimble Office Suite, 250 Assay St., Houston.
